Also known as a Lumi currency stick, this beautiful piece is a combination of different size shell discs. The shells have been used as currency amongst the Asmat tribe in Papua and are signified as an object of wealth. Often the currency was used as a dowry gift for the marriage.
All pieces are traditionally handcrafted which is why no two pieces are the same. Each has a slight difference in size, shape and/or color contributing to the uniqueness and originality of each beautiful piece.
