Ceremonial Cassowary Dowry of Papua



This intricate handcrafted piece from Papua was once upon a time used as a ceremonial dagger in ritual killings. In present times, it is presented to a bride as a wedding gift or in the form of a dowry.

The character of this beautiful piece is heightened with Lumi Conus Shells which represents currency and decorated with Cassowary feathers.

All pieces are traditionally handcrafted which is why no two pieces are the same. Each has a slight difference in size, shape and/or color contributing to the uniqueness and originality of each beautiful piece.

This beautiful piece measures 48cm in height, stand inclusive.
